Hield een winkel van witgoed in de Neerstraat. Was de moeder van onze gebuur Conrard Sauer, de eigenaardige duivenliefhebber uit onze buurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hij was gehuwd met Gudula Vangheluwe, van vooraan Beveren. Hij deed aan (groot)handel in koekjes. Zijn oudste zoon Etienne is jong gestorven; het was een brave jongen. Dat was een groot drama!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zijn andere zoon Frans was een eerste klas deugniet, maar is gelukkig getrouwd geweest, wat laat; had nog 3 kinderen en is ook plots gestorven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ik zag Conrard nog eens in het hospitaal. Hij vroeg om sigaretten. Zijn ziekte heeft maar enkele weken geduurd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Madeleine Sauer, zuster van Conrard, bleef ongehuwd en heeft het winkeltje in de Neerstraat voort gerund. Ik geloof dat ze nu nog leeft in een rusthuis in Roeselare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
