Hij verbleef van \u201946 tot \u201961 in Zaire en is als gevolg van de toenmalige opstand naar Belgi\u00eb teruggekomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hoe en waarom hij in Duitsland belandde en waar ergens weet ik niet. Hij was wel 1200 km verwijderd van Lichtervelde en legde regelmatig die weg af, langs de toen nog eenzame autostraden. En bracht regelmatig voor mijn broer Jozef scheermessen en ander materiaal mee om te gebruiken in zijn coiffeurswinkel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tot hij ziek werd en na korte tijd stierf in Torhout in \u2019t hospitaal. Waarschijnlijk was hij toen in het rusthuis van Scheut langs de Bruggesteenweg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
De begrafenisdienst was in Lichtervelde, maar hij ligt begraven in Schilde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
